DEBURRING

Deburring is the process of removing sharp and rough edges (burrs) from the work pieces after drilling or machining for a smooth & better finish. Deburring can be a time consuming & labour intensive task. There a many different types of hand deburring tools & deburr machines available to handle almost every deburr task. Most deburr tools have High Speed steel cutting blades which can be replaced, also carbide, ceramic & coated deburr blades are avail.

You could imagine a car, even some components from a car (alternator, etc) with hundred of holes drilled & machined, each hole must be deburred somehow. Many methods are used, linishing,

carbide burrs, filing, countersinking, polishing, scraping, grinding, vibrating/rumbler machines, etc.

As the tool is passed thru the hole, the insert (HSS or carbide) chamfers or deburrs the leading edge, then the insert collapses & continues thru the bore without marking the bore’s surface, the deburr tool is then reversed back giving a chamfer on the reverse underside of job, the insert once again collapses & is pulled back thru the bore without any damage to the bore’s finish. Both sides of the bore chamfered / deburred in one pass.

Bores from 1mm to 50mm can be deburred easily, with these E-Z tools.
