CNC SLEEVES
CNC sleeves or CNC reducing sleeves are used in the CNC lathe turret to step down the standard lathe turret toolholder bore to the required tool diameter. The CNC sleeves are hardened steel and ground internally & externally, with either clamping slots or clamping screws in them.
For example; 40mm outside sleeve has a 25mm internal diameter to hold a 25mm boring bar. The 25mm boring bar is clamped in place with grub screws in the CNC reducing sleeve. This CNC sleeve also ensures the boring bar is on the correct centre height of the CNC lathe.
Standard sizing internally are 6mm, 8mm, 10mm,12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm and 40mm.
The sleeves are generally used to hold boring bars, collet chucks and tapping heads with parallel shanks.
CNC sleeves can also be supplied with Morse taper internal and parallel external adaptors for holding Morse taper shank drills, etc.
